There are several ways to earn college credit while still in high school, depending on the courses offered. Two primary options include College Credit Plus (CCP) and Career-Technical Assurance Guides (CTAG). By successfully completing these courses with a passing grade, you may be eligible to receive college credit.

To make the most of these opportunities and ensure credit is transferred over, it's important to discuss your options with both your high school counselor and your college admissions counselor, especially during your College/University Orientation.

College Credit Plus (CCP) is an opportunity for Ohio high school ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵs to simultaneously earn both college and high school credit prior to high school graduation.

Benefits of CCP

• Qualified ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵs may earn college credit at no cost to ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵs or families in courses taught by ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ faculty.
• All CCP ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵs are assigned an advisor to assist them with scheduling and topics related to ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ success.
• Students may select courses in the Ohio Transfer Module (OTM) or that have been identified as Transfer Assurance Guides (TAG) which guarantees these credits transfer to other public Ohio colleges and universities.

Admission Requirements

• CCP Application
• Official High School Transcripts or Middle School Grade Report(s): Sent directly from the school counselor during the online application.
• Mature Content Permission Form and Questionnaire: Form is submitted with the application, questionnaire will be signed during the online orientation

Eligibility Requirements

A ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ is eligible for the program if the ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ meets any of the following criteria:

• Cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Obtains test scores as follows:
  • ACT Minimum Scores
    • English: 18
    • Reading:22
  • Accuplacer Minimum Scores
    • Writing: 5
    • Reading: 250

The Admission Process

• Submit your application.
• Your high school counselor will receive an email to upload your transcript to your application portal.
• Admission will review your application within a few business days and you will receive next steps via email.

CTAGs (Career-Technical Assurance Guides) are statewide agreements that allow technical courses—often completed at Career Technical Centers—to transfer for credit between Ohio public institutions.

If you’ve earned CTAG credit in high school, you may automatically receive credit for equivalent courses at ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ or other Ohio colleges and universities.  Talk to both your high school and college academic advisors to understand how your CTAG credits may transfer and apply toward your degree.

If you are taking a College Credit Plus (CCP) course through ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ, your course may count toward both your major requirements in Education and the general education requirements outlined in the Miami Plan.

To ensure the credits apply as expected, be sure to review your course selections with your high school counselor and confirm with your academic advisor during your college orientation.

Former Miami Regionals College Credit Plus (CCP) ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵs, who earned a 3.0+ GPA cumulative in high school, may be eligible for a $2,000 per year renewable scholarship if admitted to Miami Regionals.

Incoming Miami Hamilton and Miami Middletown ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵs are automatically considered for ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ merit scholarships. There is no separate scholarship application. Scholarships are not guaranteed and are based on academic credentials provided with their admission application.

Incoming and continuing ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵs are considered each year for donor and departmental scholarships. The Office of Student Financial Assistance automatically makes award determinations based on eligibility criteria.
